Nightlife question. Hopefully someone can help.

I'm 24 in a few weeks and got a load of mates coming down for my birthday, and fancy getting away from Chester for Saturday afternoon and getting last train home.
I'm here as a student and don't really know any locals, and of all the fellow students I know none of them have been out in either place, so stuck for opinions.

Done Liverpool on Paddy's night with some lads from back home, the concert square region, and generally had a really great night. Pints a bit more expensive than what I'm used to back in Cumbria, but is to be expected.

Now, apart from the Wolves, I know very little about Warrington but have heard through the grapevine of people from home going there for a night out and enjoying it.

So, just wondering what you guys thought, is Warrington any good for that sort of thing? Stick to Liverpool or is it worth checking out somewhere new and going to Warrington? How does it compare to Liverpool price wise?
Both places about same fare on the train, similar travel time, and similar last train departure time, so that doesn't make much difference.

I'm from warrington, go out there prob once a month and playlive there in my other guise 1-2 times a month.

go to Liverpool or Wigan for a far better night.

Avoid Warrington like the plague, it's a shat-hole. Liverpool everytime.

Other than that I'd go Liverpool, miles better than Warrington plus theres plenty gentlemens clubs, or so I've heard
