Quote Karlos13="Karlos13"I emailed the club before the womens football international to see if they had any plans for anything such as handing out leaflets etc promoting Salford, and also volunteered to help out if they were planning anything. As usual, no one replied.'"
Sterling effort, exactly the kind of thing I meant. Tell me if I've missed the post you left here at the time, I rarely bother to login here nowadays, but why wait until now to share this?
Quote Karlos13="Karlos13"The fact is we had 5500 at the stadium for a womens football game, 700+ stalls for a car boot which caused traffic gridlock due to the number of visitors, and have had a full car park on at least 4 occasions for the olympics park and ride, yet there hasn't even been something such as a poster on the club shop window advertising our next game. You have previously claimed our lack or marketing is down to our low budget, but I am presuming one poster on the club shop window is within our budget? Having these events at the stadium is one major positive of playing at Barton compared to The Willows. The official branding for the Olympics park and ride even referred to it as 'Salford Reds Stadium' rather than the official title. We are actually getting some brand awareness but yet seem to have no idea or even intention to capitalise on it.'"
I'm not a huge believer in marketing, at least not window posters or leaving flyers on car windscreens. So I'm finding it hard to get as excited about this massive opportunity as others here. Do we know the ROI?
Didn't the club send out tens of thousands of flyers to local residents prior to the season kicking off? I'd like to know what kind of response that got (I fancy it's not in the tens of thousands).
That said, a small army of volunteers could have spread the word with a little help from the club. An army of one I fear Karlos!
